Makhir Ginger & Peach Lemonade

When peaches are in season, its time to make peach lemonade. Sweet ripe peaches. Tart lemon juice. A generous pinch of fiery Makhir Ginger. The result? A summer cooler that is bright, refreshing and just the right amount of spicy.

  • 3 cups Peaches (about 4 big peaches sliced with skin on, chilled)
  • 1 cup juice of Lemon
  • 1 tsp Makhir Ginger
  • 2 - 3 tbsps Maple Syrup (adjust as per taste)
  • 2 cups chilled water
  • Ice to serve

* Makes about 1 litre

  1. Slice the peaches and chill for a minimum 1 hour.
  2. Freshly squeeze the juice out of the lemons.
  3. Add the chilled peaches, lemon juice, Makhir Ginger and maple syrup to the blender.
  4. Strain about half the peach lemonade through a sieve (or cheesecloth) to obtain a clear liquid without residues/pulp. Add back the remaining peach lemonade with the pulp and mix well. We love a little pulpy version, you may choose to strain completely to get a clear peach lemonade.
  5. Add the chilled water and stir well.
  6. Refrigerate and serve chilled over crushed ice.
