When peaches are in season, its time to make peach lemonade. Sweet ripe peaches. Tart lemon juice. A generous pinch of fiery Makhir Ginger. The result? A summer cooler that is bright, refreshing and just the right amount of spicy.
Makhir Ginger & Peach Lemonade
- 3 cups Peaches (about 4 big peaches sliced with skin on, chilled)
- 1 cup juice of Lemon
- 1 tsp Makhir Ginger
- 2 - 3 tbsps Maple Syrup (adjust as per taste)
- 2 cups chilled water
- Ice to serve
* Makes about 1 litre
- Slice the peaches and chill for a minimum 1 hour.
- Freshly squeeze the juice out of the lemons.
- Add the chilled peaches, lemon juice, Makhir Ginger and maple syrup to the blender.
- Strain about half the peach lemonade through a sieve (or cheesecloth) to obtain a clear liquid without residues/pulp. Add back the remaining peach lemonade with the pulp and mix well. We love a little pulpy version, you may choose to strain completely to get a clear peach lemonade.
- Add the chilled water and stir well.
- Refrigerate and serve chilled over crushed ice.
