Makhir Ginger & Peach Lemonade

When peaches are in season, its time to make peach lemonade. Sweet ripe peaches. Tart lemon juice. A generous pinch of fiery Makhir Ginger. The result? A summer cooler that is bright, refreshing and just the right amount of spicy.

  • 3 cups Peaches (about 4 big peaches sliced with skin on, chilled)
  • 1 cup juice of Lemon
  • 1 tsp Makhir Ginger
  • 2 - 3 tbsps Maple Syrup (adjust as per taste)
  • 2 cups chilled water
  • Ice to serve

* Makes about 1 litre

  • Slice the peaches and chill for a minimum 1 hour.
  • Freshly squeeze the juice out of the lemons.
  • Add the chilled peaches, lemon juice, Makhir Ginger and maple syrup to the blender.
  • Strain about half the peach lemonade through a sieve (or cheesecloth) to obtain a clear liquid without residues/pulp. Add back the remaining peach lemonade with the pulp and mix well. We love a little pulpy version, you may choose to strain completely to get a clear peach lemonade.
  • Add the chilled water and stir well.
  • Refrigerate and serve chilled over crushed ice.
